On December 19th, 2022, William (Bill) Glenn Bartlett, loving husband, father, and grandfather went to be with the Lord at the age of 78 at home surrounded by his loved ones.

Bill was born July 11, 1944 in Owensboro, KY. He received his Bachelor of Science from Bowling Green State University in 1966. Shortly afterwards he enlisted in the United States Army in 1968 during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1970. Then in 1972 he felt compelled to follow in his grandfather's footsteps and decided to serve and protect his community by becoming a Deputy Sheriff in Montgomery County OH, and retired after 30 years of dedicated service.

On April 6th,1974, he married Karen Sue Longenecker. Bill and Karen raised two children and were married 38 wonderful years. Bill lovingly cared for her until she passed away in 2012. Bill had a passion for spending time with his family. He enjoyed a special bond with each of his grandchildren splitting his time between his grandchildren in Dayton, OH and Oklahoma.

Bill was a lifetime member with the United Christian Church. He was a friendly and familiar face at the Fraternal Order of Police lodge 104 retiree luncheons. Bill was frequently found at the local Boston stoker and enjoyed the company of his friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Lorraine Bartlett (2010), his wife Karen Sue Bartlett (2012). He is survived by his beloved cousin Carolyn Denton, and also his daughter and her husband Heather and James Kirkland, and their children Ja'Vaughn (Brieanna), Caleb, Jacob, Kaylee and Rorie. He is also survived by his son and his wife Christopher and Heather Bartlett, and their children, Andrew, Aiden, Madisyn, Aryn.

His legacy will live on through them.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the Kindred Funeral Home (400 Union Blvd., Englewood). The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 5:00 p.m. until time of services. Inurnment will be held privately at Arlington Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #104.
