Irwin S. Peters, an uncle of Chester Peters, of Mulberry, died at the home of his son in Lafayette, Tuesday, April 28, after an illness of several weeks' duration. His father was Reuben Peters, and he was reared on a farm in Ross township now the home of Orval Rothenberger. His wife, who was Hester Wiley, died in 1918. He is survived by four sons: Roy Peters, of Lafayette; Waldo Peters, of Lafayette route 4; Hayes Peters, of Charlotte, Mich., and Milo Peters, of Albuquerque, N. Mex., and a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Remaly, of Lafayette route 4.

He was in the 84th year of his life and had lived most of it in the vicinity of Pettit. The funeral service was held at the Baker funeral home in Dayton last Sunday afternoon. Burial was in the Dayton cemetery.

In the old days the Reuben Peters home was one of the finest in this part of the country. There were four sons and one daughter in the family. All are deceased excepting Frank, of Lincoln, Neb., and John Q., of Rossville.
