Virginia Cannon Fairfield,a homemaker, died Sunday of complications from a stroke at East Jefferson Hospital. She was 72. Mrs. Fairfield was born in Salt Lake City and lived in New Orleans for 30 years. She was vice president and secretarytreasurer of Robins Temporaries and Labor by George, which was sold in 1987. She was past president of Newcomers Club of New Orleans, past president of New Orleans Women's Golf Association, past president of Bayou Shores Golf Club, member of St. John's Golf Club and a member of DePaul Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband, George W. Fairfield; three daughters, Leslie Lenz of Wilmington, N.C., Gaye Hamilton of Baton Rouge and Robin Negrotto of Pass Christian, Miss.; a sister, Barbara C. Johnson of Salt Lake City; and five grandchildren. A funeral service will be held today at 1 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home Chapel, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Burial will be in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
