Garland "Abe" Adair, age 74, of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Garland was born Wednesday, September 1, 1948 in Rutherford County to the late Albert Lee Adair and Geneva Lawson Adair. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He worked as an auto detailer for many years and was a member of Chase Baptist Church. Garland was an avid carp fisherman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Adair and brother, Randy Adair.

Survivors include his son, Kelly Adair (Beth) of Forest City; two brothers, Gene Adair (Maxine) of Ellenboro and Bobby Adair (Tammy) of Forest City; three sisters, Shirly Campbell (Earl), Kathy Henderson of Forest City and Norma McInturf (Ray) of Forest City. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Cody Adair, Nick Adair, Bryson Adair, Hayden Adair; great granddaughter, Lala Adair and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, January 3rd at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jerry Ruppe and Reverend Roy Hall officiating. Military Honors will be presented by the Rutherford County Honor Guard after the service at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will follow at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
