Peggy Jean Alford, 87, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022. She was born December 26, 1934 in Spartanburg, SC to the late Edna (McBee) and Frank Roberts.
Peggy met Elbert Jack "Shorty" Alford and the two married in Spartanburg in 1950. They were married for 64 years when he passed away in 2014. She worked for over 25 years as a meat wrapper for Safeway Stores in the Odessa/Midland area. She was a member of Sunset Heights Baptist Church and enjoyed family card games and, in her earlier days, watching television programs like "As the World Turns," "Dallas," and "Falcon Crest." The family spent many days and nights at the race tracks enjoying and supporting Shorty's racing.

She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline LaJuan Alford; son, Jack Allen Alford; grandson, Joshua Shane Horshinski; granddaughter, Margaret Horshinski; and great granddaughter, Phoebe Horshinski.

Public viewing will be Monday, May 9, 2022 from 10 AM-6 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at Hubbard-Kelly on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 10 AM followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
