Bill L. Evans, age 88, of Louisville, KY passed away on December 31, 2022 at Norton's Brownsboro Hospital. Bill was born October 1,1934 in Bruin, (Elliott County) KY as the eleventh child of the late Clifford & Minnie Evans. Bill enjoyed a career of over 30 years working in both secondary and post secondary vocational/technical education. Bill was a kind, caring, loving, gentleman. He was thoughtful and respectful and always had time for conversation whether with family, friends or strangers. He gave many hours of positive wise counsel to family members over the years and earned respect and love from each of them. He was definitely the anchor of the family. Among those who preceded Bill in death were six brothers: Glenn Henry Evans, Ernest Talmage Evans, Bert Elwood Evans, James Lowell Evans, Drew Evans, and Emil Franklin Evans; and four sisters: Gladys Evelyn Evans Walker, Beulah Evans Maggard, Geneva Fern Evans Porter and Ethel Maxine Evans Porter. Also preceding Bill in death was his beloved step-grandson, Hagen Carter Frieske. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Linda S. Evans; his children: William David Evans (Emily) of Louisville, KY and Melanie Layne Evans of Dallas, GA; and stepdaughter, April R. Frieske of Madison, IN. Also surviving are four grandchildren and two step grandchildren, Erin Bower (Ronnie) of Paducah, KY, Matthew Evans (Cyndi) of Lexington, KY, Zachary Rabun (Katie) of Dallas, GA, Sarah Rabun Weathers (Ty) of Dallas, GA, Julette Frieske of Madison, IN, Quinn Cross of Louisville, KY. Twelve great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild survive: Hunter, MacKenzie, David Lee, Eleanor, Conner, Avery, Raya, Emelia, Savanah, Ben, Lilly, Liberty and Xander. Many nieces and nephews also survive him. Visitation will be at Rattermans Funeral Home in Middletown (12900 Shelbyville Rd., Louisville, KY) on from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. Burial will be at the Middletown Historical Cemetery.
