Michael Mandell was born on June 11, 1959, in Logansport, Indiana. He was a 1978 graduate of Logansport High School. While in high school, Michael was active in the theatrical department and choir. He had a big, beautiful voice!

Logansport HS theater acting credits include:
Damn Yankees! (baseball player & chorus member) - November 1975,
The Music Man (Marcellus) - November 1976,
To Kill A Mockingbird (Tom Robinson) - February 1977,
Showboat (Joe) - November 1977,
Our Town (Stage manager)-February 1978, and
Carousel (Jigger) - May 1978.

In June 1978, Michael won First Place in the National Speech Tournament in the Dramatic Interpretation event. He is the only LHS student to have taken First Place honors at a national tournament.

Michael was accepted to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City immediately after high school and was invited to stay for their special three year program.

He was an actor, known for I Love You Phillip Morris (2009), New Year's Eve (2011) and Person of Interest (2011). Mr. Mandell was also know for his numerous theatrical performances, mostly off Broadway and in numerous regional theaters across the country.

Mr. Mandell was member of the Actors Equity Association.

He died on July 26, 2020.
