Actor and Director. He began his film career as an actor starring with Theda Bara in one of her most famous films, "A Fool There Was," in 1915. He decided to try directing shortly afterward and piloted many features in the late 1910s and early 1920s. His most ambitious film was "The Beloved Vagabond" in 1915 which was six reels long and tinted in color. He left the United States in 1922 and settled in France, where he continued directing films until 1926.
