Obituary:
March 19, 1927 ~ January 8, 2023 (age 95)

Ann KEY Jordan (full name Lois Ann KEY Jordan) passed away at the Mirador in Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born in Amarillo, Potter County, Texas, to Aubrey Terrell KEY and Lois Erin DEASON Key. On 23 Jun 1928, they moved to Dallas, Dallas County, Texas, where they lived until moving to Corpus Christi on 21 Apr 1939. She graduated from Corpus Christi High School and attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, before graduating from Del Mar College in Corpus Christi.

Ann married James Marion JORDAN in 1947 and gave birth to five children, four of whom lived to adulthood. Through the 1950s and 1960s, she was a homemaker and Den Mother, raising her four children with her husband. In the late 1960s, she began working at Del Mar College, first in the Registrar's Office and later in the Office of Institutional Research, before retiring on 31 Aug 1989.

She traveled extensively, first with her family, then with her husband. After her husband's passing on 14 Jan 1984, she continued to work and travel. Before she began to slow down several years ago, she made many road trips that took her to every one of the lower 48, as well as visiting Alaska and Hawaii several times. Her travels also took her to five of the seven continents. She loved reading, writing, and playing bridge. Her love of reading led her to volunteering at the Corpus Christi Public Library between her numerous trips.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Joe Key JORDAN, her husband, and her son-in-law. She is survived by her three sons and their spouses, her daughter, and her two grandsons. Her extended family includes a brother, sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held at 10am Thursday, January 19th, 2023 at St. John United Methodist Church. Interment followed at Seaside Memorial Park, both in Corpus Christi.

Flowers are welcome (she loved flowers), but donations in her name can also be made to St. John's United Methodist Building Fund, Corpus Christi Public Library, or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
