Blanche Marilyn nee: Pladson Holmes, she became ill shortly after Christmas and passed on January 9, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Fridley MN.
Blanche was born May 5, 1931 in Brooten, Minnesota, the daughter of Burton and Myrtle Pladson.
She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church and remained in the Brooten area for much of her younger years, graduating from Brooten High School in 1948. She married Lester William Holmes on January 5, 1952 in Kootenai, Idaho. Upon Lester's retirement from the United States Air Force in 1966 they lived in New Brighton, MN. They were married for thirty-two years until Lester's passing in 1984.
Blanch spent her final days surrounded by her grandchildren and very cherished friends.
Blanche was predeceased by her husband Lester William Holmes, her sons Timothy Paul Holmes and Randy Burton Holmes her brother William Edward Pladson, father Burton Kermit Pladson and mother Myrtle Bernardine Pladson (Nelson).
She is survived by her son Bradley William Holmes, her grandchildren Michael Whitmer, wife Sami of Arizona, Dirk Whitmer, wife Vivian of Arizona, Erin Holmes Bechtel, husband Gil of Arizona. Eleven Great Grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Blanche will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Blessed be her memory.
