"Funeral services and burial for MANUEL CROCKETT JR., 23, of 1488 South Main, Salt Lake City, UT, who died of feloniously inflicted gunshot wounds on December 16 in Salt Lake City, will be in Marshall, Texas. Born May 28, 1944, in Marshall, Texas, to Manuel Crockett and Pauline Brown Crockett. He married Rosetta Newton on December 15, 1962 in Salt Lake City. Mr. Crockett came to Utah in 1959. He served in the U.S. Marines for 13 months in Vietnam. Survivors include his widow, a son, Manuel Crockett III, and two daughters, Teresa Crockett and Kayleen Crockett, all of Salt Lake City, UT; his mother, Pauline Brown, of Salt Lake City, UT; his father, Manuel Crockett Sr., of Fort Worth, Texas; a half-brother, John Henry Brown, of Salt Lake City, UT. He was also survived by his maternal grandfather, Henry Brown, of Marshall, Texas; his paternal grandfather, Jessro Crockett, of Harleton, Texas; 9 brothers and sisters; nine uncles; and nine aunts.
Services are arranged for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Cypress Chapel Baptist Church for Manuel Crockett Jr. The Rev. W.H Holt will officiate. Burial will be in the Cypress Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Hayward Funeral Home of Marshall, Texas."
