Rock Musician, Songwriter. A drummer, he was a founding member of the 1970s Canadian music ensemble "Bachman-Turner, Overdrive." Born Robin Peter Kendall Bachman, the younger brother of "The Guess Who" co-founder Randy Bachman, Robbie began playing the drums during his teenage years. When Randy formed the group "Brave Belt" (which also included middle brother Tim) in 1971, he enlisted Robbie to play the drums. They recorded five studio albums, most notably "Crazy Arms, Crazy Legs" (1972), before being renamed "Bachman-Turner, Overdrive" in 1973. During the decade, they enjoyed commercial success beginning with the single "Let It Ride" (1974). This was followed by "Taking Care of Business" (1974), "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" (number one, gold single in 1974), and "Roll On Down the Highway" (1975, which Robbie co-wrote). He remained an active performer into the 2000s. In 2014, Bachman-Turner Overdrive were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
