Winslow, Ill.,–Mrs. Nettie Benfer, 75, wife of J. Kearney Benfer, of Winslow, died at the Bowen Convalescent home in Orangeville Wednesday at 4 a.m., after a lingering illness. Nettie Heise was born in Oneco township March 3, 1869, the daughter of William L. Heise and Susanna Cole Heise.

She was one of a family of fifteen children. On Dec. 26, 1899, she was married to J. Kearney Benfer, in Orangeville. Besides her husband she is survived by three children, Mrs. William Fritsch of Winslow, Mrs. John Heft of Lena, and Orville, of Veterans Hospital, Chicago; and by one brother and four sisters, Harvey Heise of Fort Dodge, la., Mrs. George Coldwill of Manhattan, Mont., Mrs. Anthony Woodley and Mrs. William Van Matre of Lena, Mrs. Carrie Van Sickle, Eagle Grove, Ia. There are four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon, at 1:30 o'clock at the Burington Funeral home in Orangeville. Rev. Henry Wallace will officiate and burial will be of the Winslow Methodist church made in Rock Lily cemetery in Winslow.
