Son Christoph married first Dorothea Buckendahl then Hulda Stieg and farmed next door to his father. Son Heinrich married Louise Balgemann and was a carpenter; after her death he married Augusta Meyer Marquart and moved to Minnesota. The youngest daughter Wilhelmina, born in Illinois, married Wilhelm Brinkmann and moved to Minnesota.
