A 1960 graduate of Peshtigo High School. Dan then served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962. A hard-working man, he became a pipefitter at Marinette Marine for 40 years and took pride in running his Hog Farm with his family.
On July 13, 1968, Dan married his wife, Rosemary Bastian, and spent the next 54 years building a life filled with 2 children, 5 grandchildren, countless friends and family, love and laughter.
In his free time, Dan enjoyed fishing and hunting, fixing anything broken or not, all things outdoors, telling tall tales and stories, and especially pranking the ones he loved most.
Dan is survived by his wife Rosie;
son Jim (Ally);
daughter Jody (Candice) Leslie Cannon;
grandchildren: A.J., Aliya, Ian, Mason, and Ella Rose;
his brother John (Carol) Leslie;
and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents George and Katherine (Bergeson) Leslie, Dan was preceded in death by his brother Steve; sister-in-law Judy (Mrs. John, nee Krause) Leslie and brother-in-law Jerry Bastian.
A man of many hats, he went by many names: Daniel, Dan, Danny, Dad, Fodder, Grandpa, and Gramps; he is greatly missed.
His family will receive friends and family at Berth & Rosenthal Funeral Home on Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon. Burial follows at Harmony Cemetery with full Military Honors.
