Raymond "Jack" Jackson

Raymond Jackson was born March 5, 1937, to the late Gracie Lewis-Jackson & John Jackson Jr, in Jeanerette, Louisiana. He attended Thomas Gibbs Elementary, until 3rd Grade, then began working to help take care of his younger siblings. Despite his early departure from school, Raymond was very educated & labeled "jack of all trades." Raymond primarily did mechanic work for 30 plus years at Domtar Salt Mine. But nonetheless, anything you ask him, he was able to do. From mechanic, carpentry, welding, electrical, Jack did it all.

He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was a faithful and active member at Macedonia Baptist Church. He was a faithful member of both the Male & Mass Choir and served as a Deacon as well. Raymond was well known and loved by all who met him. Raymond met the love of his life Juanita J. Jackson & the two became one on February 3, 1983.

Raymond finished his journey on Earth on July 19th, 2021, after battling a long fight against cancer. Awaiting his arrival is his parents, Gracie & John Jackson Jr.; six brothers, John, Peter, Roy, James, Lester, & Willie Jackson; five sisters, Gloria, Shirley, Delores, Betty-Jean & Barbara Jackson; three daughters, Felicia, Cassandra, & Gloria Jackson, and two sons, Raymond & Nathan Jackson.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Juanita; one brother, Frank Jackson of St. Louis, MO; four daughters, Tina (Anthony) Colbert, Apollonia Williams, Cynthia (Kerry) Joe, Stephanie "Renee" Jackson; two sons, Tyrone (Maria) Williams, & Arthur (Glenda) Jackson of Houston, TX, one sister-in-law Barbara Jackson of Sumpter, SC; eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two adopted children, Danielle Wilson & Cleveland Provost Jr., four godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him.

A Celebration of Life for Raymond Jackson will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Macedonia Baptist Church, Rev. Ulysses Mitchell, in Ashton, Louisiana. Mask will be required.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 31, 2021, from 8:00 A.M. until the commencement of the celebration at Macedonia Baptist Church.

Raymond will be interred at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Ashton, Louisiana.
