Stephen B. Kluba, age 57, a resident of 819 Woodlawn Drive, Manitowoc, entered into eternal life on Friday, July 4, 2008, at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers following a courageous battle with cancer.

Steve was born on Sept. 11, 1950, in Two Rivers to the late Floyd and Ann Cherney Kluba. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1969. On Sept. 18, 1971, he married Debra A. Wanish in Manitowoc. Steve was employed with the city of Manitowoc Department of Public Works from May of 1973 until his retirement in January of 2008. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Manitowoc, and also of Teamsters Local No. 75. Steve's family was very important to him - especially his grandchildren. He cherished every moment with them. He also enjoyed deer hunting, golfing and fishing.

Steve is survived by his wife of 36 years: Deb, Manitowoc; one son: Heath Kluba, Two Rivers; two grandchildren: Ryan and Rachel Kluba, Two Rivers; one brother:Mark (Tammy) Kluba, Manitowoc; two sisters: Barbara (Charles) Rue, Bellevue, Wash., and Debra (Steven) Mueller, Goshen, Ind.; three sisters-in-law: Virginia (Bruce) Kraak, Greeley, Colo.; Tamara (David) Deubler, Kiel; and Jacqueline (Michael) Milski; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: George and Marilyn Wanish; very special friends: Bob and Sue Hablewitz and Jerry and Mary Sue Dempski; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, from 4 until 7 p.m. with a prayer service led by Deacon Paul Kieffer starting at 7 p.m. The visitation will continue on Thursday, July 10, 2008, at St. Francis of Assisi-Marshall from 10 a.m. until the beginning of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. The Rev. Thomas Wojciechowski will officiate with burial to follow at Knollwood Cemetery.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

The family would like to extend their special thanks to Dr. Yetter, Dr. Pratt, Dr. Teehan, the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center Staff, and the Fourth of July E.R. staff at Aurora Medical Center for all the care and compassion they provided Steve and his family during this most difficult time.
