She had been a permanent resident of Pensacola since 1964.
Joyce dearly loved her church, Pensacola Christian College Campus Church and though disabled, went as often as she could.
Joyce married Lt. Frank Hamlin Blue, Jr. USN on Jan 12, 1954 in Mobile, AL. They were married 53 years.
She was a homemaker but was also a secretary and worked for the Department of the Navy, Monsanto Corp. and General Nutrition Corp.
She was also very active in the local chapter of Women for Responsible Legislation.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Lee Dantzler; mother, Mae Hammock; and step father, H.H. "Pop" Self; uncles, Clifton "Bud" Steele, Collins Steele, Fred Dantzler and Lemie Dantzler; aunts, Hazel "Sis" Tolbert, Adel Blackburn and Winnie Frances Lambert. She is survived by her loving husband and dedicated caregiver, Frank; her son, Daniel & wife Kaye of Panama City, FL; daughters, Sharon Scribner & husband Donald of Tallahassee, FL, Melinda Fruth of Waldorf, MD; grandchildren, her sisters, Lois Robison & husband Billy, Betty Schneider, Carolyn Miller & husband Bruce, Bonnie Pasavage & husband Stanley; brothers, Norman Dantzler & wife Alice, Stanley Self & wife Stacy, and Vance Self; numerous nieces and nephews.
