Her death certificate lists her parents as Susan Wiesner and Jacob Isacowiz. According to her passport application in 1922, she was born in Mährisch Ostrau, Mährisch Ostrau, Moravia, Austria, and she needed to return to Europe to settle an estate.

She came to American in 1909 with two children, Leo and Hertha. Sigmund had arrived earlier. Their son Edward was born in New York.
