Mary Gentry was born in May-1785 in Knox County, Eastern Tennessee, to parents born in Spotsylvania County & Albermarle County, Virginia: Tabitha née Murphy Gentry & Jesse Gentry. Tabitha was born in 1768 and died sometime between 1790 and before November 1822, when she is referenced as deceased in a Nov-1822 land deed document. Jesse was born in 1757 and died in 1834, having moved to Kentucky, where he died. Tabitha & Jesse may have only had two children -- Mary in 1785 & William after in the 1780s still -- or possibly other children born around that same time after Mary (definitely first baby by mum Tabitha's young age of abt 16 wed and 17 motherhood) that perished before mention in 1822. Dad Jesse, on the other hand, is purported to have been married three times and had as many as 16 children, 14 half-siblings to Mary & William. (Those timelines remain to be untangled. The window of when Jesse was with Tabitha & they had Mary and William together is clear: 1784-abt 1789.)

Definitively, "Mary Gentry, now Mary Keith" was the only surviving daughter of deceased heiress Tabitha née Murphy Gentry by Nov-1822. That is the date of her mention in the attached transcribed deed reallotment of land originally bequeathed her mother Tabitha at the time of Mary née Gentry Keith's maternal grandmother's death -- Sarah née Barton Murphy.

Mary Gentry had married John Keith abt 1804, age 18-19 & 22-23, likely in Knox County, Tennessee, where she was from and where they raised their family. John Keith had come to Eastern Tennessee from where he was born in Virginia, like Mary's parents had done before her.

Mary née Gentry Keith died in 1866, age 80-81. Her husband John Keith had died five years prior in 1861, age 79-80. They're most likely buried next to one another in a graveyard in Knox County, Tennessee, like most of their kids, and they had lived all of her life & all of his married life with her -- including as documented just before his death on their last census of 1860.

Mary née Gentry Keith's only full-brother William Gentry was born after her in Knox County, Tennessee, abt 1788, is mentioned in the 1822 deed document reallocating what was bequeathed them by their maternal grandmother Sarah née Barton Murphy's 1817 Will, and once more in Sept-1833 as giving their maternal uncle William Murphy back in St Francois County, Missouri, power of attorney to sell off what William Gentry had left of that land inheritance, as William Gentry was by then a resident away, of Limestone County, Alabama. Mother further has been found about him. Then about age 45.

John Keith appointed son, Pleasant Keith, his attorney to grant, bargain or sell all interest accrued in a tract of land in St. Francois County."

John Keith, husband of Sarah née Gentry Keith (on her still living behalf), did the same as his only brother-in-law William Gentry had done in Sept-1833 -- and that deed is on the same page 287, discussed at the foot of his wife Mary née Gentry Keith's page, as William Gentry has not a FaG page, death or resting place unknown yet -- that John, acting for his wife, inherited the land share back in St Francois County, Missouri, originally of Murphy's Settlement, through Mary's maternal grandmother Sarah née Barton Murphy's death & Will in 1817 as her mother Tabitha née Murphy Gentry was already deceased by 1822 when the 1817 bequeathments were reshuffled, John Keith from Tennessee divested those Missouri interests in Aug-1834.
