RAYMOND - Funeral services for Mr. Richard J. "Ricky" Barber, 49, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating.
Burial will be in Bertrand Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. today, Wednesday, and from 8 a.m. until time of services on Thursday.
A rosary, led by Deacon Mike Tramel, will be recited at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel.
Mr. Barber died at 4:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, at his residence.
A native of Jennings, he was a resident of the Hathaway area for 18 years, moving there from Elton. He was an equipment operator for Jefferson Davis Parish. He was a member of Log Cabin Hunting Club, Jennings Bass Masters and Jaw Jackers Fishing Club.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Catherine A. Sonnier Barber of Hathaway; one daughter, Amelia Chantal Barber of Hathaway; two sons, Richard John Barber of Hathaway and Joshua Louis Barber of Jennings; his parents, Charles James and Doris Marie Crochet Barber of Hathaway; and two sisters, Felecia Ann Barber of Welsh and Regina Marie Deshotel of Hathaway.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Cassie Monique Barber.
