PFC Donald Beam was a member of G Company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, having enlisted on 15 January 1951. He was killed in action during Boulder City, the last battle fought by the Corps in the Korean War. He almost came home.

Donald's mother's name was Dorothy Purcell. Siblings were Clifton and James Beam.
