James "Jim" Doty, 73, of Noblesville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 4, 2023 while vacationing at his Florida home. He was born on June 11, 1949 to James and Elaine (Ferree) Doty in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Jim graduated in 1967 from Carmel High School and from Indiana University in 1971. For 45 years, he worked as a general manager for Royal Pin Bowling. Jim was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and enjoyed driving his Shelby Mustang and playing golf. He was a Professional Bowlers Association Hall of Fame inductee and a Fourth Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus. Jim was a fan of the Indiana Pacers and Indianapolis Colts, attended 65 consecutive Indianapolis 500 races, and was a Disney World VIP.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Fleck Doty; sons, Jeremy (Katherine) Doty and Christian (Alicia) Doty; daughters, Julia Siewers-Rutjes and Louisa Weber; 2 granddaughters, June Louise Doty and Rhiannon Lee Ann Doty; as well as several nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Carole Faye Walrod.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with a Rosary Prayer Service at 7:00 pm, on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville. An additional visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with Mass at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 9900 East 191st Street in Noblesville. Rev. Clayton Thompson will officiate. Burial will be at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis.
