James Coughlin, a 17-year-old Lasalle lad, was killed instantly on Sunday by the accidental discharge f his fouling piece. He had rowed with other parties up the river on a duck shooting expedition, a mile above Rockwell, a flock of ducks coming in sight, young Coughlin hastily seized his gun by the muzzle and drawing it towards him the hammers cai=ught in the seat of the boat and instantly both barrels were discharges, the loads lodging in the stomach and killing the young man.
