After retirement, Howard and Marge moved to the Bennington Lake and they attended the Bennington Bible Church. After the passing of his wife of over 50 years, Howard later met and married Edna Fritts of Gypsum. The later moved to Gypsum where they became members of the First Baptist Church. Howard loved fishing and hunting with his grandsons and there are many stories to tell about their times together. He loved working in the garden and always grew the best vegetables that he loved sharing with others.
