In a book Nordhoff Cemetery, Book One: 1870 - 1900 by Patricia L. Fry with Dennis Mullican, it has been written as follows:
"Clara Allinson died June 10, 1897. Clara was nearly 16 years old when she died, having been born on July 9, 1881. She was a member of the County Christian Young People's Group and was scheduled to speak at a state convention of the Women's Christian Temperance League in Ventura the day after she died. The paper reported that Clara's was the largest funeral procession ever seen in Ojai up until that time. Clara had a sister named Eva and brothers named Bert and Ernest. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel W. Allinson. Clara died just six months after her father and was buried next to him. They share a double marker in the Allinson family plot in the northwest section of the cemetery along the roadway."
