Aberdeen - The funeral service for Alois "Al" Senger, 79, of Aberdeen will be Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory in Aberdeen. Fr. J. Joseph Holzhauser will officiate.

Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Alois Senger was born May 2, 1928, to Anton and Katherine (Jung) Senger in Hague, N.D.

Al married Monica Reinbold on Sept. 27, 1949. He moved to Frederick, S.D., with his wife and family, where he farmed for several years until he retired.

After his retirement, Al moved to Aberdeen, where he lived until the time of his death on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, in Aberdeen.

Al was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Moose Lodge. Al loved to play cards and to dance to the Waltz.

Surviving Al are his eight children: Arnold (Pat) Senger, China Spring, Texas; Sharon Senger, Aberdeen, S.D.; Janet (Don) Zeck, Fargo, N.D.; Dennis Senger, Dallas, Texas; Richard (Catherine) Senger, Allen, Texas; Jean (Bill) Glerup, Aurora, Colo.; Robert (Tammy) Senger, Sioux Falls, S.D.; and David (Lisa) Senger, Sioux Falls, S.D.; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers: Joe (Theckla) Senger, Jerome (Ann) Senger and Paul (Helen) Senger; and four sisters: Leona (Val) Werlinger, Irene (Al) Wagner, Barbara (Jack) Glatt, and Alice Schafer.

Al was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, JoAnn.

The Senger family would like to thank Don Schaunaman for being such a loyal friend, and also Aberdeen Health and Rehab for the care they gave our father.
