Faye lived her life as an example and an inspiration to those she encountered. She gave to others more than she gave to herself and asked for and expected nothing in return. Her candidness and her cooking talents will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Faye was proceeded in death by her parents, Florencio and Escolastica Esquibel; son Carlos Romero; daughters Patricia and Mary Louise; brothers, George, Fidel, Gilbert, Secundino Sr., Federico, Charlie Esquibel; and sister Magdalena Gallegos.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Santos T. Romero of Springer; sons Floyd Aguilar of Springer, John Aguilar of Roy, Patrick (Linda) Romero of Corpus Christi, Texas, Robert Romero of Springer; daughters Georgia (Henry) Arellano of Bernalillo, Filomena Rose (Michael) Ramirez of Springer; brothers Onesimo (Mary) Esquibel of Clayton, Florencio "Lencho" (Gloria) Esquibel of Roy; grandchildren and great grandchildren Patricia Guenther of Las Vegas, N.M., and son Jordan of Lubbock, Texas; Shuree Sandin of Chicago; Floyd Florencio Aguilar Jr. of Hawaii; Michael Don Aguilar of Denver; Roberta Ann Castro and sons Estevan, Enrique and Elijah of Denver; Paula Antoinette (Porfirio) Fernandez and sons Estevan and Carlos and daughter Estrella Graciela of Rio Rancho; Alejandro Manuel Arellano Sr. and son Alejandro Jr. of Rio Rancho; Robert John "BJ" (Gina) Romero and daughter Santana Faye of Springer; Roman Santos Romero of Springer; Patrick (Dianne) Romero Jr. of El Paso, Texas; Adam Santos Romero of Long Beach, Calif.; and Charlie Debra (Joseph) Mirabal of Albuquerque.
Cremation has taken place. Life celebration will be held Thursday, March 20, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Roy, followed by burial in Springer.
