Actress, Television Screenwriter. She is remembered for her recurring role as 'Nurse Able' in the hit TV comedy "M*A*S*H" (1976 to 1983). Born Judy Hayden, she studied Theatre at Oklahoma State University and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts. After relocating to California, she enrolled at UCLA from where she received her Master's degree in Education and went on to teach English and Drama at a high school in Laguna Beach. During the early 1960s, she met Mike Farrell when they were both acting in a local theatre production and later the two were married (divorced in 1983). She made her television debut in an episode of the series "Judd for the Defense" and went on to credits in the programs "Get Smart," "The Interns" and a small role in the motion picture thriller "The Andromeda Strain" (1971). Further TV roles include "Room 222," "The Partridge Family" and "Quincy, M.E." During the 1980s, she began a career as a story writer for the TV shows "Fame" and the soap opera "Port Charles." She died of complications from a stroke.
