Ronald Richard Jae Sr., 86, a resident of Slidell, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023.

Ronald was born on July 21, 1936, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to William Emil Oscar (Jeannette, PA) and Grace Weidner Jae (Claridge, PA).

After graduating High School in 1954, he enlisted in the United States Air Force.

Mr. Jae retired at the rank of Master Sergeant in 1975.

After a brief stint as a manager at Winkie's, he was a field service engineer for Ohio Nuclear beginning in 1976 where he repaired nuclear imaging machinery.

Ohio Nuclear changed names to Technicare, which in turn was bought out by Johnson & Johnson. He retired from J & J in 1986. He then went on to work for General Electric where he retired as a Team Leader in 1999.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Olie Rita Bodin Jae; his parents, two sisters, Annabelle (Marshall) DeWolf, Dolores (Marty) McDonough; and one brother, John Jae.

He is survived by four children, Karen Marshall (Carl), Carol Svitek (the late Steve Svitek), Ronald Jae Jr (Ariel), and Mary Jae.

As well as four grandchildren: Sherri Yingling (Todd Moore), Renee Yingling, Sara Marshall, and Matthew Jae Marshall (Beth) and three great-grandchildren; Cheyenne Jae, Bryan Jae, and Madeline Marshall.

Mr. Jae is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives.

Burial will be in Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Slidell, La.
