Miss Mattie Coker Passes Away

Miss Mattie Coker, aged 48, died last Friday afternoon at the home of her sister, Mrs. T. F. Smart, after an illness of four years, three of which she was confined to her bed. She was born in Mississippi in 1878, came with the family to Texas in 1885, and has been a member of the Baptist church since she was 15 years of age.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Baptist church, Rev. T. H. Burton, pastor of the First Methodist Church conducting the services. Interment in the Bartlett cemetery. The active pallbearers were Bryant Duncan, Arthur Ware, E. M. Wilson, H. E. Cearley, Ford Wheeler and Leon Roberts. The many beautiful floral offerings placed on the grave testified to the love and high esteem held for Miss Coker by her friends.

Surviving relatives are three brothers, W. H. Coker of Bartlett, R. L. Coker of Georgetown, and L. B. Coker of Arcadia, and one sister, Mrs. T. F. Smart, of Bartlett.

The Tribune joins in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
