Widow of the Rev. Nehemiah Greenman, who died in Salem County, NJ, in 1779. Mary's maiden name was allegedly Mead, and that is the name she was living under on Coates Street in the Northern Liberties, Philadelphia County. Died of "dropsy" (sometimes refers to congestive heart failure) at the age of 78.

Mary Mead can be identified as Mary Greenman by her will, in which she names her remaining children and grandchildren as heirs, specifically mentioning Barsheba and Anna Greenman, children of her deceased son Thomas Greenman and his first wife. The majority of her estate went to Mary Greenman, who was her firstborn child.
