Donald (Donnie) Dean Kingery was born July 17, 1943, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Everett and Louise (Dressic) Kingery.
He married Eleanor (Snooks) Halsted on September 1, 1962. Together they raised their three daughters.
Donnie was retired from Local 177 Laborers Union where he was a proud member for 55 years. He worked for Neumann Brothers Construction for most of that time.
He was a lifelong Norwoodville resident, where neighbors and friends were family. He was always happy to lend a hand to any of his friends when they called.
He was hardworking guy, tough on outside, but had a hell of a sense of humor. He was good at cracking jokes and telling stories. Donnie lived for his family and you could always count on finding him in his recliner with one of the great-grandchildren in his lap.
He was preceded in death by his parents Everett & Louise Kingery; siblings Bob Kingery, and Barbara Wright.
Immediately following the service, we will have the burial at Berwick Cemetery. The family would like to invite everyone to a luncheon at Union Labor Park located at 4640 NW Morningstar Drive in Des Moines following the burial.
