Emily Smith Creswell, 82, died August 15, 2007. Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, she came to Tucson in 1942 to attend the University of Arizona, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi. After graduating, cum laude, in 1945, she moved to Phoenix. She married Richard Creswell in 1947 and became a homemaker and volunteer worker with Red Cross, PTA, Girl Scouts, and Recording for the Blind. She served as a Republican Precinct Committeeman. A member of the Goodwill Auxiliary for many years, she was Co-Chairman of the Book Department. She served as a Historian for The First Congregational United Church of Christ, Phoenix. She is survived by her husband, Richard Creswell; daughter Kathleen M. Creswell; nieces and nephews; Judy, Susan, Steve, Alan, Laura, and Carolyn. A memorial service will be held at 12:30 pm on Sunday, September 16, 2007 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Phoenix, 1407 N. 2nd St, Phoenix, AZ 85004. The family prefers a memorial to the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Phoenix.
