Born in Devizes on the 10th March 1894 and baptised there on the 15th June, Frank was the son of Edwin and Ellen Mary Allman (nee Olding) of St. John's Lodge, Hazlemere, High Wycombe, Bucks.

His father Edwin was a Gardener by trade and Frank followed in his father's footsteps also becoming a Gardener.

Frank was engaged to a Miss A Barnwell.

In Oxford, during WW1, he enlisted in the Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry and was killed in action on the 8th October 1918.
