James "Jig" Hightower Jr. 44, of Peoria, passed away April 17, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
James was born on November 24, 1978, in Peoria, IL to James Hightower Sr. and Carol Ann Webster. He was blessed with another father Hermen Fortney. James loved fishing and playing cards. He shined bright for many with his big loving heart.
James leaves to cherish his precious memory to: father: Herman Fortney; three sons: Latavyan Wells, Travis Staples, and Kashmir Jones, all of Peoria; five daughters: Lynesse Smith, Lorentece Mitchell, Jhaliya Hightower, Miyeangel Hightower, and Jayla Hightower, all of Peoria; seven brothers: Martell (Shannon) Webster, Jeremy Bond, Jermaine Bond, Ken Bovan, Camorris Bovan, Laterrius Bovan, and Edward Parker; seven sisters: Sharon Webster, Latosha Webster, Bonita Webster, Keonia Bovan, Deshundra Bovan, Maharmony Bovan, and Ghia Parker.
James was preceded in death by his mother: Carol Ann Webster; his father: James Hightower; one brother: Vincent Alexander; and one sister: Sharonda Webster.

Interment will be at Lutheran Cemetery.
