Paul was born on July, 31, 1949 to the late Robert and Salome (Evenson) Haupt of Manitowoc. Paul graduated from Valders High School in 1968.
On February, 15, 1975 Paul married the love of his life, Annette Tadych at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chilton, WI.
Paul worked for Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry from 1971 until his retirement in 2014. Paul also drove milk truck for Haupt Trucking. This was a part-time job but also a favorite pass time of Paul's; he truly enjoyed getting to talk with the farmers and workers at the dairy.
Paul also served his country as a member of the Army Reserves. Paul cherished spending time with his family whether it was at a cottage in Athelstane, a family reunion, children's sporting event or gathered around a table playing a game of Sheepshead. In his younger years Paul was an avid bowler. Paul also enjoyed volunteering at Holy Family Memorial Hospital after his retirement. He loved getting to meet new people and offer whatever assistance they needed. Paul was the kind of person that would give you the shirt off his back without giving it a second thought.
Paul was an active member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills parish. Paul was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, and Steel Workers Local 125.
