Surrounded by her immediate family, and resting peacefully, Margaret Buswell passed from this world shortly after 6am on May 6, 2023, following a brief illness. Margaret was born on September 20, 1925, to James Harley and Mae Ivy in Waurika, Oklahoma. She was the fourth of five children.

Margaret was Valedictorian for the 1943 graduating class of Waurika High School and went on to attend Oklahoma University, receiving both her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees. But, the most important thing that happened to Margaret while at OU was her meeting the love of her life, Albert C. Buswell, Jr. They joined in Holy Matrimony on August 10, 1947.

Margaret was a brilliant pianist who touched countless lives through her love and passion for music, giving piano lessons to numerous budding pianists, and through her years of music ministry with Sunny Lane Methodist Church, where she was the organist and choir director for thirty-five years. Her children were the greatest beneficiaries of her talented teaching.

Margaret is survived by her two daughters Alison Cox (Lonnie Cox) and Marian Pendell (Mark Evans), 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Albert Jr. (Buz) and her son Albert III (Buzzy).

A private internment will occur at the Sunny Lane Cemetery on May 9th, 2023, with memorial plans to follow.

"She's a regular soldier!" Albert Buswell, Jr.
