Graveside services for Ernesteen Callaway, 91, of Gilmer, will be held at 3:00 pm, Monday, May 8, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Park with Brother Mike Kessler officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm, Monday, at McWhorter Funeral Home.
Ernesteen was born December 17, 1931, to Robert Ernest and Fannie Smith Davenport, in Upshur County, Texas, and passed from this life on May 5, 2023, in Longview, Texas.
Ernesteen worked at Upshur Rural Electric Cooperative for 40 years before retiring. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are grandson, Matthew Callaway and his wife, Charlene, and their children, Julia Mae, James Wells, and Hudson Bruce; granddaughter, Tanner Lee Callaway and her son, Creighton Lee; and her brother, Joe Davenport.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Callaway; son, Mike Callaway; brother, Billy Davenport; and her sister, Rose Jobe.
Pallbearers are Steve Hudnall, Corey Hudnall, Todd Davenport, Tim Anderson, Rylan Burk, and Jackson Burk.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 304 Buffalo St., Gilmer, Texas 75644.
