William Cantrill Moores of Gambrills MD, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the age of 92.
He was predeceased by his parents Isaac Shelby Moores and Marion Leslie (Cantrill) Moores, his siblings, Edward Shelby Moores, Elizabeth Jean Ashcraft, James Alexander Moores, Willie Ruth Ecklar, Marjorie Ann Fain, and Mary Lynn Grose.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Lou, his children, Judith Ann Ungar (Dr. David), Clinton Landon Moores (Audrey), and Theresa Lynn Zseleczky (John); 4 grandchildren, Anna Elizabeth Somers (Darian), Evan David Ungar, Laura Zseleczky (Corey Dunn), and Peter Zseleczky (Alice Langrall); 2 great grandchildren, Sipsy and Wendell Dunn; 1 brother, Charles Leslie Moores (Linda), 2 sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Moores, and Linda Gayle Moores; and a host of extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 5pm on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, MD. A funeral service will be held at 11am Monday, May 22, 2023, at St. Stephen's Reformed Episcopal Church, 2275 Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD. Private interment will be in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to the following organizations: St. Stephen's Christian Academy http://www.ststephensclassical.org/, St. Stephen's Anglican Church https://www.saintstephensanglican.org/, or St. Andrew's Anglican Church https://saintandrewsanglican.org/# .
