Bourbon County to the late Isaac Shelby and Marion Cantrill Moores. Jean was a
retired seamstress and children's caregiver, who loved to quilt and spend time
with her family. She was a member of Nicholasville United Methodist Church and
the Jessamine County 4-H Homemakers. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jean
(Eugene) Blackford, and her son Herbert B. (Terry) Ashcraft Jr. , two brothers
William C. (Betty) Moores, and Charles L. (Linda) Moores, sister in law, Stella
Moores, and Elizabeth Moores, brother in law, Ross Ecklar, grandchildren, Jane
(Ben) Clifford, Doug (Amy) Blackford, Robert Blackford, Jay (Ally) Ashcraft,
Megan (Brandon) Harney, great grandchildren, Shelby and Lincoln Clifford, Barron
and Mason Blackford, Will and Annie Ashcraft, McKenzie, Bryce, Blake, and Brody
Harney, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a great
grandson, Conner Blackford, three sisters Marjorie (Garnett) Fain, Ruth (Ross)
Ecklar, Mary Lynn (Avery) Grose and two brothers, Edward S. Moores and James A.
Moores. Service will be 2:00 PM Friday at Betts and West Funeral Home conducted
by Chaplain Jessie Baldridge. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:00AM until 2:00 PM Friday. Casket
Bearers will be grandsons. The family would like to thank the staff at Mayfair
Manor and the Red Team from Hospice of the Bluegrass for the loving care given
