Obituary, Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, Newport, NH:

West Lebanon, NH – Joanne Lee (Pariseau) Cram, May 21, 2023, of 69 Lily Lane.

She was born in Newport, NH on March 13, 1930, the daughter of Edward Pariseau and Genieve (Shackett) Pariseau Page. She graduated from Towle High School in Newport as valedictorian of her class in 1948. She married Burton W. Cram of Newport, NH in 1949.

The family moved to Arizona in 1958 with sons John and Michael due to their health issues and resided there until 1972 when they returned to NH along with sons Frank and Robert. They resided in Newport until 1979 at which time they moved back to Arizona. They returned to Lebanon, NH in 1998 after retirement.

Joanne was a dedicated "stay at home" Mom who instilled a strong set of values and a strong work ethic in all her sons. When her children were older, she worked as a bookkeeper and teller at Sugar River Savings Bank in Newport, NH, overseeing the installation of the first computerization of the teller's stations.

She attended the Thetford Baptist Church with her son Frank and daughter-in-law Decenda. Joanne enjoyed crocheting and knitting, and the family received many treasured items from her over the years. Joanne was an avid lifelong reader, and particularly enjoyed murder mysteries. In her final years her beloved niece Kim would read to her at night after her eyesight started failing. In her final years, she was assisted by many wonderful and compassionate caregivers for whom the family is forever grateful.

She was predeceased by her husband Burton in 2003 and her eldest son John in 2021 and daughter-in-law Denise in 2021. Members of her surviving family include Frank Cram of East Thetford, VT, Michael Cram of Tequisquiapan, Mexico, and Robert Cram of Globe, AZ; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild; nieces Kim Elliott of RI, Kay Elliott of NC, and nephews Arthur Cram of PA and Stephen Cram of NJ.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 27th at 2PM in the North Newport Cemetery, Newport, NH.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452.
