Mary R. Cundiff, 95, formerly of Converse, IN passed away at 1:03 PM, Monday, May 29, 2023, at Aperion Care, Peru, IN. She was born in Peru on April 22, 1928, the daughter of William and Esther (See) Townsend. Mary married Thomas D. Cundiff in Poplar Bluff, MO on June 24, 1960, and he preceded her in death on May 17, 1991.
Mary attended Peru High School, was a member of Converse Church of Christ and was a homemaker. Family was very important to Mary. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She loved her family unconditionally.
She is survived by her children Sandy Hendershot, Converse, IN, Mark (Karla) Ahnert, Dayton, IN, Tony (Tina) Cundiff, Omaha, NE, and Tom (Sue) Cundiff, Caro, MI; sisters Susie Hughes, FL and Esther Russell, Peru; grandchildren Lori Mummert, Brandon (Amy) Ahnert, Josh (Alicia) Ahnert, Sarah (Austen) Thielen, Emily, Chloe and Nicole Cundiff, Lisa Horton, Kristopher Cundiff, and Mandy (Jack) Palmer. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tom, son-in-law Ray Hendershot, two brothers, three sisters and three grandchildren.
Graveside services for Mary R. Cundiff will be held at 12:30 PM, Friday, June 2, 2023, at Park Lawn Cemetery, Amboy, IN with Robert Taylor officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, Amboy, IN.
