Superintendent Wood of the Odd Fellows Home at York, Nebraska called Mrs Ruth [John E.] Nelson secretary of the Sargent Rebekah Lodge[ Valley Queen Rhbekah Lodge No. 154. I.O.O.F. ] and told her of the death of Miss Gertrude Morris about noon on Sunday, April 7th 1946. Miss Morris has been living at the home the past several years.
The funeral service was held at the home at 10:30 o'clock Tuesday forenoon and interment was made in the cemetery there. It was her request that she be buried there. It is a very beautiful cemetery.
None of her relatives were able to go to the funeral. We understand that her nephew, Charley Morris, of Ord, Nebraska had planned to go to the funeral.
We hope to have a obituary for next week's LEADER.
