James Ntakos, 61, of Toledo, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2008.

He was born on October 28, 1946 in Agia Paraskevi, Lesvos, Greece to Ignatios and Katina Ntakos who preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Olympia (Vogiatzis); daughter Katherine (Sam), son Ignatios; grandsons Emmanuel and James; sisters, Helen Matthews of Toledo and Meni Vourvoulia of Lesvos, Greece; brother-in-law Bill (Angela) Vogiatzis; many nieces and nephews, and countless beloved family and friends.

James immigrated to the United States in 1968 from Lesvos, Greece. Throughout the years, he worked tirelessly and proudly with various businesses in including The Wheel Restaurant, Dunkin Donuts on Alexis Road, and Olympia's Restaurant. He was a member the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral and was active in the AHEPA and Young at Heart church organizations. In his retirement, James devoted his time to his church, helping friends and family with anything he could, and tending to his yard and garden. But what he enjoyed the most was spending time with his two grandsons and treasured the joy that they gave him.

Friends are invited to visit from 3:00-8:00PM on Monday, March 24, 2008 in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Ave. where Trisagion Prayers will begin at 7:00PM. Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM on Tuesday at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 802 N. Superior St. Rev. Aristotle Damaskos Officiant. Interment in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral Memorial Fund.
