He was born April 29, 1892, at Eaton Station, Wood county, the son of the late James Benjamin and Francina Varner Hornbeck, and was retired from the Citizens Coal and Concrete Co.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Clara Halfhill Hornbeck; two sons, Roy of Parkersburg and Robert of Vienna; a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Francis, Vienna; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, John H. Hornbeck of Parkersburg and Harvey Hornbeck of Portland, O.; and two sisters, Mrs. Rosy Ruble, Belpre, and Mrs. Blanche Davis of Marietta.
The Rev. John S. Nesselroad will officiate with burial in the Mt. Olivet cemetery.
