He was born in Wood County, son of the late James Oscar and Clara Belle Hatfield Hornbeck. He was retired from the A.B. Chance Co., and was a World War II veteran.
He is survived by his widow, Geraldine Hayes Hornbeck, six sons, Ronald and Donald, of Belpre, James, David, Roy, and Carroll, of Parkersburg; six daughters, Barbara, Patricia, Pamela, Mary Ellen, Jacqueline, and Carla, of Parkersburg, a brother, Robert, of Vienna; a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Francis of Columbus, O.; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Franklin & Son Memorial Chapel in Parkersburg, with Elder Clair Ruble officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memory Gardens.
