Romanza "Jane" Barngrover, 102, Topeka, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, at a Topeka hospice house.

She was born Dec. 17, 1899, in Tecumseh, the daughter of Frank and Charlotte Aye Anno. She graduated from Highland Park High School and lived most of her life in Topeka.

Mrs. Barngrover was a member of Central Park Christian Church and the Oakland Rebekah Lodge No. 616. She also was a member of Widows of World War I and Active Prime Time Travelers.

She married Ralph Barngrover on Feb. 16, 1920. He died Feb. 16, 1953. Mrs. Barngrover also was preceded in death by three sons, Charles A. Barngrover, Seth K. Barngrover and Robert L. Barngrover.

Survivors include a daughter, June Ghan, Topeka; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Funeral Home. Burial will be in Overbrook Cemetery in Overbrook. Mrs. Barngrover will lie in state after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
