Nathan Anno

Nathan Anno, 86, Carbondale, died Monday, Oct. 17, at a Topeka hospital where he was readmitted Oct. 15.

Mr. Anno worked for the state highway department until 1937. He operated an automotive repair garage at Wakarusa until he retired in 1979.
He was born Nov. 16, 1896, at Tecumseh, the son of Frank and Charlotte Aye Anno. He lived at Topeka from 1919 until 1937 when he moved to Wakarusa. He lived in Carbondale since 1979.
He was an Army veteran of World War I.

He was married to Eva D. Eshom Dec. 31, 1919, at Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs.Lola M. Meinert, Citrus Heights, Calif., and Mrs. Lila M. Shepard, Carbondale; two brothers, Silas Anno, Carbondale, and Albert Anno, Topeka; two sisters, Mrs. Romanza Barngrover and Mrs. Della Soffray, both of Topeka; six grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Tibbits-Griffin Highland Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Anno will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at the chapel.
