According to the book Jackson County Past and Present, Jonathan Hill and Roxie Ann Warner, with children Nancy, Alice, William, Laban, and Thoomas moved too what is now West Virginian prior to 1813. "The came by flatboat down the Ohio River and up the Kanawha River to the mouth of Eighteenmile Creek then up this creek fifteen miles to where they settled." (page 245).
